Trying to read cytogenetic shorthand nomenclature today to pick samples for an experiment. Gone all buggy-eyed and have a headache. Who the heck comes up with these goofy-assed backwards-compatable things? It's maddening.

Finally starting to get my head around some of the philosophy of Mastodon, as well as its functionality. I like being on a big federated instance, but I think I should migrate to a smaller, more role-specific instance to enable better “local” conversations. 🤔
So, "squirrel" is a very hard word for non-native English speakers to say.
In German, the word for squirrel is "Eichhornchen," which is hilarious to hear non-native German speakers attempt to say.
I wonder if there's some global squirrel conspiracy to ensure their name in every language is ridiculously hard for foreigners to say.

Spending my last day of vacation binge watching Dr Who and trying to stay warm by the wood stove.
I’m about autismed out for the week. Can’t wait to get back to work next week. :(
Holidays are great and all that, but I kind of wish I wasn’t on “forced” vacation. All I did all week was feed the wood stoves and think about work. I just didn’t feel motivated enough to tackle the huge list of things that need doing around the farm.
