Every now and then I get comments from readers like "wow this is so good I can't believe it's not more popular, you deserve a bigger audience" and I super appreciate it because that's a kind thing to say, but it's really hard not to come back with THEN SHARE IT /PLEASE/
i know i say it a lot but this is really out of the creator's hands. if you think something you're into needs more eyes on it please for the love of god go link it in your discord or tweet it or get on the patreon or SOMETHING
by the time you find us we've probably exhausted our options! a creator can only yell about their work to their own spaces, if it's gonna go beyond that somebody else needs to get it there.
like, i don't wanna sound rude or anything because that IS an encouraging and well-meaning piece of feedback, it's just frustrating that so many people don't seem aware that helping with that problem is entirely within their ability
@thorthenorseman @DialMforMara the principle is the same, but youtube in particular is p aggressive about keeping creator content from getting to the audience so sharing is the only way they get heard.
The advent of algorithmic filters on basically every social media site means the audience has way more power than the artist, esp those artists with smaller follower counts, and my experience is people aren't aware of it so here i am beating this horse again lmao
@shinesurge part of why I always favor retoots/retweets. Favorites are nice but they don’t promote as well
