I wish raw carrots and lettuce tasted as good to me as it seems to taste to the rabbits in Watership Down, they make it sound so fragrant and enticing. I got a cheap butter lettuce from the farmers market and ate a few leaves raw, it's like... just okay...
@shingworks the trick to lettuce as far as i can tell is that its only good with other stuff.
Cheese sandwich? Good. cheese sandwich with lettuce & tomato? Clear upgrade (Similarly the best salads are like, only half lettuce and the rest is chopped up fruit/veggies/nuts)
@shingworks I'm vegetarian and lettuce is still a mystery to me.
