Watched the first episode of American Gods yesterday. I thought it was pretty good, but my partner - who hadn't read the book, and I had assumed she wouldn't need to - hated it. I don't think I've ever seen her react so negatively to a TV show.
@jjatria just not her thing. Lots of violence (which I don't really remember from the book except for the last few scenes) and especially gore. A lot of the scenes were also pretty disjointed. Mind this was just the first episode, but it was enough that she has no interest in watching the rest of the show.
@simonv3 What about it did she dislike so much? I haven't read the book, but I really liked the first season.
Then again, I tend to really like the stuff that Gaiman writes...
