So when I made up more than that at the end of my shift, when I do extra hours on my days off, when I stayed an hour late without pay, that didn't count as commitment. ok.
God I'm glad I'm not interested in a career. It's all such bollocks.

writing might pay poorly and I might be pathologically incapable of doing enough of it to pay anyway, but at least it's honest. I can say exactly what I want and I don't have to tick some fucking ridiculous boxes to keep some incompetent HR pisswick in martinis.
Dealing with paycheques at my day job: "We fucked up payment for the entire organisation but we'll still get paid several times what you do anyway lol"
Getting paid for writing: I openly insult the people paying me every time I email them and nobody cares. It's brilliant.
I'm ridiculously lucky, so absurdly, comically, undeservedly lucky with who I get to write for. So naturally I respond to that by swearing and making jokes about them at all times. I don't know why I'm like this but there it is.
