doing microcontroller programming where the microcontroller has a cache, and you have to write every important bit of code twice and A&B test it to see which version the cache prefers, like youre doing SEO and the processor is your fickle customer

developers be like: "No wonder you're experiencing bugs, you don't even delete the package cache, re-clone the repository, reboot and re-run these batch scripts every hour"

It's almost like they fixed too many bugs and had to add new ones to keep the balance.

It's worse than usual today. While switching tabs would usually help it doesn't now. When I try to save so I can discard the changes it does the wonderful windows something-happened-but-i-won't-tell-you-what-chime and nothing else (yes, I have checked other desktops).

Anti-props for having them stacked on top of each other, making the gesture weird, but worse, not really leaving room for a gesture opening a work space / window overview.

Yay, it happened again. It was in a file that is opened, but I haven't looked at since the project was loaded. But it *is* the source of something I was hovering over ...

Nice, putting the original folder in back in place doesn't reproduce the issue.

Trying to get closer:
Reloads and restarts do nothing. What ended up fixing it this time was temporarily renaming .nupkg.metadata (which contains a version number and a hash) and building (which includes restoring). Putting it back afterwards is fine, it doesn't create its own. I suppose this somehow provoked a re-fetch.
