I don't understand preservation of culture. Isn't that an ever evolving thing? And if we don't allow it to evolve and change, doesn't it become dogma? Didn't the Renaissance teach us precisely that?
I woke up today thinking has any generation spent more efforts than the past 2-3 in preserving bygone things in the name of culture?
At least in the Indian context, a lot of what culture means to people is actually patriarchal and casteist customs. Tools of oppression.

@sridharrajs Traditions are part of a culture. My thoughts are about the broad spectrum as well. Did we have Museums before 100 yrs for example? Did people give importance to preserving it same way we do in modern times
