@Fritillaria hahah my bruised thumbnail puts the lie to that. My neighbor's ash got dropped as part of EAB mitigation strategy and i took some. i went to split it and trapped my hand between two wedges when i went to pull one out. Gonna file that one under lessons learned!

@Fritillaria yeah it's no bueno for sure. at least my town is prioritizing diversity this time though instead of just planting a million Norway maples
