@erikvorhes Do wheelchairs actually use the gaps between trees and parking meters? I would assume they use the cutouts at the ends and then go down the middle of the sidewalk like pedestrians do.
I don’t get the outrage over parked scooters blocking sidewalks. Have you seen a US city sidewalk? The first 3-4 feet are already blocked by parking meters, trees, trash bins, bike racks, traffic signs, streetlights, utility poles, mailboxes, fire hydrants, etc. Plenty of space for scooters in-between.

@erynofwales Go further down the hill a little to Wrecking Ball. Totally worth it. Or if you’re further west, try fifty/fifty.
@dgouldin I just did the same to a bar of L’Amourette 100%.
Just so we’re on the same page, the #Apple hardware updates rumored for the event expected next month include:
- new MacBook
- new iPads
- new iPhone, obviously
- new Watch (up to six new models)
- new Mac mini
- new partridge in a pear tree
That is a... likely unrealistic amount of new stuff. I think it might be worth tempering your expectations.
Idea for Mastodon clients
A “strike” button on toots and retoots. Action is completely private. Three strikes on one account and it gets unfollowed. A like or a boost gives the tooter back one strike. Call it “boot”.
#city #cars #pedestrians #bikes #safety rant
Yes we need protected bike lanes but we also need a culture shift, both in the way we drive and in the way we design city streets for driving. Drivers should not be entitled to high speeds in cities. Safety and respect for non-drivers should be the priority.
“It’s like I’ve moved to a new town where nobody knows me, but everyone is looking to make new friends.”
The final quote of this Wired article sums it up perfectly.
@bignimbus @arditi @erinbee I feel like the pressure is perfectly adequate, but the pitcher is too big. Get a smaller milk pitcher. I can steam enough for a cappuccino in about the the same time it takes to pull a shot. The slower steaming is actually more forgiving. You have more time to get the microfoam swirling right.
@shibayashi Work your way up. Start with unsweetened cappuccinos. Then gradually reduce the amount of milk. Graduate towards cortados, then macchiatos, then espressos. If the last is too big a step, throw in americanos.
The Italics for Source Serif were just released, and I am very happy about it!
