In a major shift, the schools in the city of Bern throw out software and will be using open source software instead. Meanwhile the are skeptical. It is said, that the decision might have a signal effect.

@steckerhalter They did the same a few years back (2004?) in the municipality of Munich; they are currently (?) planning to return to all M$ and all-windows-PCs by 2020 AFAIK :-/

@sciss Yeah, I know, but it's bound to happen sooner or later. I hope the people doing it in the schools of Bern are ready for the challenge narrow-minded teachers pose ๐Ÿ˜†
