GitLab open sourced push mirroring and added it core. This is a great win for #decentralization!!! You can now run your own canonical GitLab instance & easily mirror to GitHub for findability.

Think about opening your new project on gitlab.com instead of #github. Later on you can migrate it to your own server. github = dead end
@steckerhalter Yes, there are workarounds. However GitHub not having this feature means that it doesn't intend to be used as a mirror. This may be an argument for⦠not mirroring projects on GitHub.
@steckerhalter @vickysteeves This only replicates the code, there is no "federation" as all social features (MR, issues, comments...) only show up in each location
