quick idea:
decentralized publishing where every article is signed by and can only be edited by it's author.
Articles sync around in the network, making censorship hard.
Hosting costs decrease for the published, DDoS gets harder, illicit modification of articles afterwards gets harder.
@saxnot nice idea. I wouldn't include the editing part. that would just be a "new" modified article signed again by the author. so anything that is not signed anywhere has been possibly tampered with. signed quotes even?
@steckerhalter i thought about some sort of wikipedia-style history but it's all write-only. A client would just see "oh, there is a revisited edition". Maybe inform the user if more than 5% of the article changed, idk.
Lots of people in this thread named lots of good things. Someone mentioned Scuttlebutt which i know near-nothing about.
