please don't use or hashtags. it's rude and insulting whole companies (and the people working there too) should not be attitude IMO. I believe we can do better than that.

@steckerhalter I agree. It's very childish in my opinion.

If you don't like Google, just don't use it. But don't be extremist and annoy everyone by your radical view.

@thomas @steckerhalter I agree, but you can not insult companies.
Believe me because I have tried. 😅

@Aarkon @thomas @steckerhalter I don't believe companies deserve to be protected from insults, they are just companies. 😂

@thomas @steckerhalter Sorry, but
1/ The most "childish" is to think that one *can* "just not use" Google or Facebook as they track/profile you no matter what, through like buttons, analytics, fonts, javascript etc. even if you don't want to be their client.
2/ telling to "fuck off" is a strong way to say "get out", not an insult per se. We want these companies *out* of our 'hoods and lives.

If you're shocked ask yourself about your relationship to money/companies/capital. do you work for them?

@FuckOffGoogle I know what you mean, but telling anyone to fuck off is not the way to put it IMO, but of course we want to get rid of the trackers and manipulators @thomas

@steckerhalter @thomas
It's your opinion. We can diverge. To us it is a very clear, straightforward way of telling the world we want them *out*. It also catches the attention, like in your case, so a discussion can be had not in terms of "can we make their behaviour change", but rather "how to get rid of them".

And if you are not convinced we should get rid of them altogether (and that people working for them should seriously ask themselves questions!) then a channel is open to discuss further

@steckerhalter @thomas
It's not just about trackers. It is about profiling, selling profiles, biasing search results ("filter bubble" to place ads), about mass automated censorship (youtube), lockdown of terminals (androids+gservices), advancing dystopian tech (glasses, transhumanism) and setting them as trends. It is about "smart city", participation in US drone program, speculation and tax evasion. It is about imposing Silicon Valley ideology to the world.

@FuckOffGoogle @thomas @steckerhalter

If you think you can just "not use" those services or delete your account and be kind, not using the F word, go to your favorite porn website, right click 'inspect element' and check all the 'src' attributes.

The Handmaid's Tale would be an extreme ending but as a reminder, USA has a vice president who thinks gays should be treated with electroshock.

The fact that a corporation can make a list of people who should receive this "treatment" is a problem.

@FuckOffGoogle @steckerhalter @thomas Please request facebook and google employees to quit their jobs.. and do something better with theirs lifes... fck capitalism!

@steckerhalter oh no pls dont insult a ~company ~ it might have feelings too

@witti I bet if it would be your company, you would have a different opinion

@witti
And please don't insult the NSA. Or Nestlé. Or Facebook. Or the FCC.
@steckerhalter

@DecentralizedPeer but it won't solve anything by just telling people to fuck of. At least in that regard he's right. They'll even try harder to annoy you.

@herrgnatz That's absolutely true - however staying silent about big issues because of politeness isn't helping either. Of course, just shouting out "F*CK FACEBOOK" doesn't contribute to the discussion, but getting to the conclusion that Facebook (or Nestlé, Verizon, etc.) are shitty companies because of their business model or things they did in the past is a different thing, or isn't it?

@DecentralizedPeer sure. But "fuck you" won't solve anything. That's not equal to being silent. There are other possibilities.
