@stevelord same. It would be awesome if there was a base compatibility layer that multiple platforms could extend from rather than simply federating.

@stevelord I dunno. It seems like a cool concept but still silos the content elsewhere instead of one's own platform.

IndieAuth might be a cool way to allow users to authenticate onto other sites in the fediverse to smooth transactions like remote following, though.

Maybe IndieAuth with an API layer for SocialPub content manipulation would be a good way to have web apps and other GUIs outside the server manage content that the API layer federates? 🤷‍♂️

@dave If we can find a way to create a decentralized keybase type service that would be the tipping point. I can't help but think that blockchain could be actually useful in this scenario, but the implementation is beyond my ken.
