Managed to get original hires 64x64 mode working. Have an offset and a fat full width mode.

@Kensan I build HIDIOT (https://rawhex.com/) precisely for time-poor EE, mostly with smaller people who have poor attention spans. You might like a look at the docs over at https://docs.hidiot.com/ - you don't have to buy the board to use them, they'll work with minor changes on an arduino too.
@stevelord Are you serious right now?!?! Did you just build that project because I was asking for something like that right now? I just got nerd-sniped.

@Kensan yeah, take a look at the docs and the blog posts to make sure its what you want. I'm putting out a post on SPI and 8x8 LED matrices this week
@stevelord You already got me reading up/looking for a soldering station. This is not going to end well for my wallet... 😆
@Kensan here's what I use: https://docs.hidiot.com/building_a_hidiot/index/ - you only need the snips, iron and solder to get started. Goggles are good to be on the safe side especially if you dont wear glasses
@stevelord As a software guy I always find hardware projects like this fascinating since you hold something in your hand and can press buttons. Wish I knew more about EE...
Well, will have to get back to learn and tinker with FPGAs. Too little time :/
