Unpaywall is a handy little open source project, available to use as a browser extension, which makes it easier to find open access copies of journal papers.
I just thought I'd share this here for those who may need it. I find it very useful!
Good morning, newbies. Lifehacker has a Beginners Guide to Mastodon post up today.
a pretty good collection of current/potential issues with Mastodon: https://twitter.com/adrienneleigh/status/1030213888850030592?s=21
Fun fact: while you may only have heard of Mastodon recently, it's been around for a while! @Gargron registered the domain 'mastodon.social' in March 2016, and hundreds of people have contributed to its development since then.
Let's take a moment to say thank you to the thousands of people who have contributed to Mastodon's development and community over the last two and a half years! We wouldn't be where we are without you!
While I'm thinking about reports:
The moderators on mastodon.social are ONLY moderators on mastodon.social. We don't have any authority over the behavior of users on other instances.
If you're reporting a user on another Mastodon instance, please remember to check the box that sends your report on to the remote instance's administrators.
I know Middle Class Rut isn't here, but I love their new album: https://www.albumism.com/reviews/middle-class-rut-gutters
Figuring out Mastodon:
Server run by the main developers of the project It is not focused on any particular niche interest - everyone is welcome as long as you follow our code of conduct!
