Spent an entire afternoon working with to fix a tiny problem in the Eclipse plugin and wow.... So much tooling to download and install and so much UI to navigate via mouse clicky clicky clicky that my fingers got numb to diagnose the problem and test a fix and submit what turns out to be an obvious (to me) one-liner patch... Whew... I really don't envy people who have to work like that every day.

Maybe power users don't actually use a mouse to navigate the UI? 🤔

@stsp I quit a job once because I couldn't stand working with Visual Studio. I knew it was going to be frustrating at times but I'd never expected it to be frustrating all the time.

@stsp to be exact. My quiting had just as much to do with the entire ecosystem as the IDE

@qqlq I have seen a bit of the corporate windows desktop + IDE developer world from the inside, too. Mostly while doing SVN consulting. Compared to doing open source development or working for start-ups, working at such a shop can be utterly boring... But it usually provides better financial stability which is important to many people for obvious reasons. What's best is when people are aware of this and use satirical wit to cope. Brings about many situations fit for being written into sitcoms 🙃

@stsp this is basically why I used to find myself running VCS commands outside of Eclipse instead of using the plugins. 🤦‍♂️
