@varkychen yup, the parallels between USA and India are astonishing.

@prasanna_s way ahead of ya 😄 I've been inactive on Twitter for months now (averaging a tweet a month or less), that too only to complain to some companies' customer care.

@stux @jamewils
Wow you started only a week ago? What a timing mate, just in time for all the Indians fleeing from Twitter, and even some mainstream publicity now

What I like about #mastodon

1. Chronological timelines
2. No periodic auto-refresh of timeline
3. 500 char limit
4. Delete-n-reDraft
5. Quality over Quantity
6. I was not viral on Twitter anyways

Hi @sighyush welcome 👋
Big fan of Newslaundry, following ever since I got frustrated by mainstream media and asked for better alternatives, and a friend recommended it.

@stux @varkychen @feekary my friends who don't speak/read the language say Malayalam looks like jalebi (an Indian sweet that looks like a bunch of rimgs) 🤣

@pradx it might open up later.
mastodon.social signups were disabled and re-enabled a few times.

@pradx aana site 🤣 malayali admin aano?
Wish I'd seen that when I signed up 🙁

@stux not on your instance(yet!) but appreciate your one-man army keeping things up and running. Happy to help if you need any extra hands on deck for server admin stuff 🌝

People of , please keep giving shout outs to people who are joining Mastodon!

Our power is in the networks we will form here organically. Before the trolls arrive and do their inorganic trolly BS, we will have a tightly knit group of people who will be prepared to deal with the incoming hate.

@pradx @HardFastAndFree @godavar @vidyut @sanjayuvacha @raja_sw @prasanna_s @nsaikia @Gargron this is actually very doable. Mastodon one click installs are available on Digital Ocean, for example. And running servers is my day job, might be fun😅

@vidyut of course @Gargron himself would be the best person to confirm my educated guesses 😅

@vidyut Mastodon has been around for a while and this is one of the flagship instances run by core devs, it will be fine. They're actually excited about the influx of new users.

Also, we can migrate to a different instance (like an Indian focused instance) when the time comes.

People, so @sanjayuvacha is here on mastodon. Welcome. It is his suspension that led many of us here.
