The awkward thing about this social media platform is that I personally know zero (0) people using it.
I'd love to see some alternative to Twitter flourish. The extent to which that one service has become entrenched in the fabric of society is terrifying when one considers the evidence it's not being operated by necessarily good actors. Will Mastodon be the new hotness? Only time'll tell.
