Given the level of technology we have today, if your system does not provide adequate sustenance, accommodation, education, and healthcare for all, it is not because it can’t; it’s because it is designed not to.

@aral In particular, the cost of living shouldn't be anywhere near as high as it actually is. At least decent whole foods, a basic house, a basic car, the opportunity to self-study for all widely-recognized credentials, basic health care out-of-pocket, and a catastrophic health insurance plan should all be easily afforded on like $15,000 a year for one person. We have the technology; it's just that we're not allowed to have these things cheaply.
