People criticizing Mastodon are doing so by comparing it to VC funded apps with an exit strategy. When you're designed for fun rather than funding, it doesn't matter what pundits think, only that your users are having a good time and can grow the ecosystem. From those metrics? Mastodon is kicking ass. My recommendation? Invest (your time) ;-)
@donb I know right? Surely people should see, just from the interface design alone, that Mastodon is a labour of love.
