The fact that there is a zine specific to one ship for Overwatch is wild as hell yet not surprising at all.

Read a JL review and I was a little annoyed at the statement that Mother Box is a term that should never be spoken out loud. I think it can totally work! But you can't transplant Pure Kirby into other tones and expect it to work.

Relistening to the MMIS Revenge of the Nerds episode because we're talking about the terrible ways geeks and nerds behaved in the 80s, and that episode is all about unpeeling the layers of that hate onion of a movie.

Let's list our favorite Gunhaver game. I'll start, Gunhaver: Guns In The Wild is a revelation for the Gunhaver series.

Random Persona 5 thought: another flaw with the game was the introduction of the last playable character is a giant fizzle compared to Naoto in 4. Naoto has been present multiple times before they join the party, compared to Haru essentially being shoved into the group. And Goro was so obviously sketchy you knew he was the traitor, and that post twist lost a lot of intended drama.

Just had the thought that the premise of Spawn is a manga premise, which could be pretty good in that style.

I've said before and still think that a LotR TV series COULD be good...but I have so little hope it would do anything but follow the GoT model, failing constantly to be its own thing or enjoyable to watch on its own merits. I'd love to be proven wrong about this if they do make it.

That's about it so far, but it's a game format that's very flexible thanks to its stupidity and simplicity.

I'm okay with some frustration in a game, but I remember seeing someone relentlessly practicing to parry every single hit of a super move and going "This is where I check out, thanks."

Something I've never said but often thought: I don't know if I could hack it in high level fighting game play, but I know I don't have the stomach for the time and dedication pro gaming of any kind would require. I want to play games to relax, and that doesn't relax me.

I need to get Terry Bogard in my avatar again, Gundam Calling is nice but it's not My Brand.

Also wonder what the hardcore Tekken people complaining about SF/KoF style characters like Geese and Akuma have to say about a literal magic man with magic weapons showing up.

Finally watched that Noctis Tekken 7 trailer and I'm sure there's a cross section of people who love both FF 15 and Tekken, but I'm just like "Okay, if that's what you want to do."

In a similar vein, while I'm going to keep checking Bird Site for a while, I'm going to do my best to post here instead, both to get used to using Mastodon and to wean myself off of Bird Site while keeping an eye on it for people posting their Mastodon names.

The funny thing about moving from Bird Site to Mastodon is that it recreates something I became bitterly familiar with in the late 90s and early 00s, which was moving between forums as they got closed down.

Going out to a pre-Halloween event, testing out dressing Avery as Fry from Futurama. Other than not having enough hair for the space pompadour, it's looking fairly good.

Well, I'm almost at noon without checking Twitter in any form, so that's a good start. Hopefully I can keep this going for the rest of the day.
