If you use #xfce on #linux, there's a plugin to add a timer to your desktop panel. You can search with apt:
apt policy xfce4-timer-plugin
or on manjaro/arch:
pacman -Ss xfce4-timer-plugin
also, anki is available in the #AUR
(if you like a gui, you can enable the AUR in pamac )
