I wrote about some of the ongoing GNOME Shell UX work: blogs.gnome.org/shell-dev/2020

There's some very cool stuff cooking in GNOME Shell land, stay tuned!

@tbernard guess I should try out workspaces, never felt the need to use them though...

@Siilwyn @tbernard I read the post and I'm very excited about the future of gnome-shell. Are you planning to adapt the design to make it work better on phone/tablet devices? Or that's phosh territory?

Another part of gnome-shell that I think it could be improved is switching apps with ALT+Tab. In Fedora, at least, sometimes when I have like 6 apps opened but switching only between 2 for a while to work on something I find it a little annoying the way it works right now

@jgarciao Convergence is mostly Phosh territory for now, but that doesn't mean we're not thinking about/preparing for it longer-term (e.g. the new app grid layout has the same number of icons per page as Phosh).

I agree that alt+tab could be better, it's definitely something we're thinking about in the larger context of improving multitasking.
