The irony of banning because they "may" hand over to the Chinese government during a time when the US is actively trying to end (because they can't see your data) is a bit much to take...

is a fundamental human right, and invasion of privacy through apps like TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, etc is the real problem from US companies and beyond.

@theprivacyfoundation I think this is not actually about privacy at all, but about war.

Sure, the NSA having access to everyone’s data sucks - but it’s ‚just‘ a human rights issue as long as you are not at war with the US.

But if e.g. a war escalated between India and China all off a sudden TikTok would be a massive threat to like core national security.
