@espen Damn, I dunno. I vaguelly recall other people complaining about GIFs being saved with 0 bytes somehow, and (apparently) using Minio instead of local filesystem storage helped with that somehow. I cannot find the source right now
@Gargron Yeah, your right. On my system, the UI attempts to retrieve https://md.fed.im/system/media_attachments/files/000/005/846/original/780842c0bb30e84e.gif which is a gif file of 0 bytes. Checking every file under media_attachements with a size of 0 bytes yielded 10 files, all ending with gif.

@spla I can reproduce this on instances that use local filesystem storage, and it seems to work fine on those that use the s3 api (minio, wasabi, aws)

@Gargron Any idea why this image just gives me a a "broken image icon" in Mastodon? I've seen it happen several times, and always with gifs.
