In happier news I got the Commodore working! it's a CBM not a PET but afaik they're the same?

@tindall PETS for the European market were often re(branded) CBM due to a trademark dispute with Royal Dutch Phillips over the PET branding.

I think this must have happened in the early 1980s, as I /vaguely/ remember seeing both brandings here in the UK (about 32 years ago!)

@vfrmedia good to know, but odd that one should show up in Wisconsin?

@tindall I think the 8000 series (yours looks like one) might all have been branded CBM - especially 80 column capable display models which would be popular for business use..

the Commodore CBM/PET main board is really pretty

cool printouts indexing floppies from around 1984

@tindall MEMORIES! (both in the nostalgia sense, and RAM πŸ˜›) although i forget which ones are the RAM

(i used to have to reseat the RAM chips in their sockets every so often on mine!)

@tindall what a nice piece of history you got here :) It would be fun to run a Mastodon client on it ^^
