I'm hoping to squeeze in a SOTA activation on a bushwalk on Sunday but with sunset at 4:45pm there won't be much time to dally over lunch... might be a handheld-only job. And last time I took 40 metre gear there was bugger-all propagation and I didn't get the activation. :) #amateurradio

@tk Yea ok, thats not a small walk, particularly when toting 5kg or so of radio gear.

@bcshort Sure isn't. This is actually a repeat attempt—last time we slogged up to the edge of the plateau in heavy snow before giving up. That day I'd decided to pack a 7.2 Ah SLA. Foolish.

@tk well Yea no. Well, not yet. We'll see if I can follow @faulteh 's lead and get fit enough to start bushwalking again.
