It's finally here! v1.0 of Toot! has been officially released on the app store!

For those who have not been in on the beta test already, this is an Mastodon client for iOS, full of character and whimsy. It is multi-instance, multi-account, it is fast, it is comfortable and it is above all a lot of fun!

It has a strong focus on user experience, animation, and attention to detail, as well as being the best client for Mastodon around. Try it now!

Reviews and ratings are highly welcome, especially good ones.

For those who have been following the beta version, this version adds a few things over the last beta:

* A new icon and launch screen.
* Some more notification sounds, with great thanks to @thorthenorseman!
* A faster follow animation.
* Unavailable features have been hidden for now.
* A few bug fixes.

@tootapp Will there be further updates via TestFlight or will TestFlight users have to update to the AppStore version? :)

@georgehrke No updates for now, at least. Maybe some future larger update, I am not sure.

@tootapp ok, then I will go ahead and purchase the App Store version! Thx for this great app

@tootapp Is there something special I have to do if I was beta-testing if I want to install 1.0? Or will betas via TestFlight continue to arrive?

@Xjs They won't, because it unfortunately costs money.

@tootapp I see. I also get the feeling I should be able to pay for the 1.0, but the App Store only shows an »Update« button that doesn't do anything when tapped. Do you know anything about how to remedy that? (Didn't want to uninstall the app on shaky train internet yet, that might work.) Maybe more people than just me have that problem, too :)

@Xjs Sounds like you might need to uninstall, from what other people are saying.

@tootapp I guess my account settings etc. will be gone then, too?

@Xjs You’ll have to re-login, yes. Browser may remember your login and make it quicker though.

@tootapp Hello! congrats on releasing the app! Could you add a darker theme ?

@tootapp Do we need to delete the Testflight version in order to buy the store version? I’m not able to buy the store version; the store listing button changes from “$5.99” (that’s the New Zealand price) to “Open” and tapping it opens the Testflight version…

@dubh Weird... You'd think it would update properly. I have never done this before so I have no idea!

@tootapp @dubh Yep, it looks like a bug in the App Store. My work has an iOS app that’s released concurrently with the testflight version, but then again I had the app store version installed prior. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@tootapp hmmm. “Open” has changed to “Update” now, but tapping it does not appear to do anything useful.

I’ll delete & reinstall instead.

@dubh Yes, you need to uninstall the Testflight version. @tootapp

@dgoldsmith @julianruf @dubh @tootapp Yeah, it worked fine for me. App Store version just replaced the Testflight version.

@dgoldsmith @julianruf @dubh @tootapp no because you can‘t buy it. Works only on already purchased apps. Maybe you could by it on another device than install over.

@dgoldsmith @julianruf @dubh @tootapp hm, my AppStore only stated „Update“ but tapping it didn’t do anything.

@dns13 @dgoldsmith @julianruf @dubh Looks like you need to delete the beta version before you can install the full version.

@tootapp @dns13 @dgoldsmith @julianruf @dubh no, I could buy the app and it replaced the beta automatically. So, probably just a caching/CDN problem.

@tootapp how much do I have to pay you to list me first on a search for banana ;)

@tootapp should people who were in the beta re-download from the app store?

@tootapp Is there a point to staying on the beta train? I've been really happy testing and wouldn't mind continuing to do so.

@zigg Won’t Ben any updates there for now. The actual app costs money, unfortunately.

@tootapp I don't mind paying for an app this good. Mostly, I was curious if you planned to use TestFlight for any post-1.0 stuff.

@zigg Possibly sometime later, but not in the near future. I’ll announce it whenever it happens if so!

@brz I’ve had reports that it does, but it’s not a development focus. Ideally, Pleroma will make sure they follow the API and then it will automatically work.

@tootapp I don't see it yet. Is it limited to certain regions for now or don't I see it because I'm in the beta?

@tootapp Thank you heaps for considering it; underlining this as an accessibility request.

@Shufei I implemented a whole theming engine, but just didn't have time to actually make any themes while trying to push out a 1.0.

@tootapp are there any plans for an android version for people who can't afford a smartphone for 1.000 bucks or a mobile contract for 50 bucks per month? >_>

@Olivar Not really, unfortunately. This is designed entirely with iOS APIs, which don't translate easily at all. Check out Tusky, that's the one I hear most people mention they are happy with on Android.

Is there any chance that an Android version will arrive in the future?

@realdroid Not really, unfortunately. This is designed entirely with iOS APIs, which don't translate easily at all.

Wow, the conversation git-style graph is cool. I wish to have that in @mastalab
