More than 400 police departments across the U.S. have entered into surveillance partnerships with Amazon’s camera enabled doorbell company, Ring.

@torproject A reminder that the ToS gives police access to any camera they want without a warrant, as well as anything posted on their "Neighborhood" app.

@torproject Even if this was not a partnership, the camera should prevent third party access.

The gap between perceived and experienced privacy at home is too big when Terms of Services apply.

I hope the #WebOfThings standard becomes successful in enabling smart homes to be interconnected and locally owned without any clouds.
