Started a #bujo this week. I want to see how much of my life that I currently manage digitally I can move to a single journal. I'm liking the prospect of managing my life on paper, in one spot ๐
I'm pretty pessimistic when it comes to North Korea but this is pretty cool to see.
I really enjoy how Mastodon shows you content in straight chronological order. This feels more like an objective reality of what's being posted. On reflection, algorithms that 'curate' a feed for you are in essence presented you with a biased representation of reality that you don't have full control over, which seems problematic.
Jessica Valenti has an excellent must-read OpEd in the NY Times on the rabid misogyny of MRAs, PUAs, and Incels and the rise of terroristic violence connected to far-right anti-feminist movements that are a major plank of the "alt-right's" ideology.
MRAs = Men's Rights Activists (who are often extremely anti-feminist).
PUAs = Pick-Up Artists.
Incels = Involuntarily Celibate.
MGTOW = Men Going Their Own Way (total avoidance of women).

Trying to lessen my addiction to my smartphone. I like the concept of removing 'entertainment apps' and keeping 'tool apps'. Also, occasionally leaving my phone at home for a couple of hours. Slowly I feel like I'm not obsessively checking it as much and it's a good feeling. The more I try to cut back the more it really feels like I'm addicted to it, which is unsettling.

Spending a lot of time thinking about how to have less tech in my life. Disillusioned with traditional social media, but Mastodon is intriguing. Giving this a shot.
