I apologize for the large Q&A video delay, I probably should have said something earlier, but I got sick and got a little behind on university stuff, and some other factors. I'll have a video out in a few days.

Sorry about all the notifications, and best wishes for the remainder of 2022 :D

@10leej I might consider trying out gentoo again, but VIM.

Sorry for the late reply still going to make a Q&A video, but essentially I got sick.

Have a happy 2022 peace :D

@arunmathaisk I prefer tiling windows managers, but it is a personal preference.

Sorry for the late reply I'm still making the q&a video. I hope you have a good 2022 :D

@0xbiel I got sick, but the video for the Q&A will be out in a few days, but I use a t420 at the moment and am moving installations to a x330 from XYTech. The wifi setup at my apartment makes it very hard to have a home server unfortunately.

My apologies for the really late response, for a new years video.

@ctarx I still use debian and i3wm & vim. I use a few scripts combined with C programs for quick installations.

For video editing I use a combination of ffmpeg, audacity & kdenlive.

Some useful utilities for computer repair are cdw for burning disks & stress for cpu stress testing, lol.

I'm still looking out for a simple graphics card benchmark, but at the moment unigine works, but free software alternatives would be nice.

Peace, sorry the late reply & I will still be making the Q&A video :D

@a
Coreboot supports a large number of platforms. I would check out doc.coreboot.org/mainboard/ind thinkpads it is up to some haswell systems, but has binary blobs.

Libreboot which is completely blobless mostly supports some core 2 duo systems at the moment and some opteron 6X00 and 4X00 processors. The 6300 and 4300 have issues though.

The project is still going though and they have a relatively new stable release.

I will be working on the video tomorrow. Peace :D

... The sound still needs trouble shooting :c, but otherwise a 22 year old thinkpad works with modern debian :D

Hi, I'm doing a Q/A on youtube if you post your comments below I will answer any tech related answer, in a video later. Also I'm selling some of my coreboot and libreboot systems.

Also I finished my new setup script and hardware, I will post the code on my website or gitlab in a bit.

I just finished corebooting 5 x220s...

Anyone know a good source for batteries? Cheapest new I found is $44, not quite sure if I should go for new or used cells.

3d printing does work for thinkpad parts, although the models can be a bit odd.

Anyways the glow in the dark, thinkpad now exists.

How do you guys feel about the imac 5,2 librebooted? I'm not a macfan, but a flat all in one seems nice for my lab...

@brad I just get mine from resale shops :D $2 dollar cables are nice.

Hey, I'm giving away a t400 libreboot system, also I made a 90s style i3 setup :D. Using plymouth chicago 95 debian and i3wm. Also I'm selling two x200(s) if anyone is interested :D
