Hi I'm looking for work again
Notable experience: I wrote the Mastodon documentation and I help manage Pixelfed
Resume: https://resume.abdullahtarawneh.com/
Looking for documentation, technical writing, could also do Github issue triage or junior programming, project/product management
Can be either a permanent role or a temporary contract thing
@michcio i like it too
@trwnh oh! That's your profile in the API examples!
@dumpsterqueer yes indeedy
@trwnh the format and content is honestly great
@trwnh great resume. And.. it is just 1 jsdelivr tracker away from the cute and desirable Badger "Hurray for privacy" status ;)
Hope you find a lovely, cool job!
@humanetech yeah i used font-awesome because i did it in a hurry
@trwnh you might go for ForkAwesome instead..
@humanetech sorry i meant fork-awesome, but that's still over jsdelivr's cdn
@trwnh ah, sorry. I self-host these usually. Fork-awesome is nice.. has more fedi icons too, but a bit slow to merge PR's unfortunately.
@trwnh Checkout careers.hpe.com and look for either remote (or cities you are willing to move to) positions as Business Analyst
@trwnh or even Project Management
@utahcon what makes you say Business Analyst? i can sorta understand Project Management because i have a bit of experience with that, but i've never considered the former...
@trwnh The roles you mentioned align with our Business Analysts and PMs...
@trwnh hh
@trwnh we were selected to build a system for handling shortages and distribution for medical supplies and procurement for the gov of Canada. We’re just looking for people because our previous subcontractors went behind schedule and over budget and didn’t finish like 20% of what they were supposed to. Seems like a really good fit with your experience. Would you be interested in an interview?
@cole what makes you think i would be a fit? i mean, i'm tentatively interested but not sure i can actually contribute much, and not sure if that's impostor syndrome or me genuinely not being up to the task, so i'd like to hear more about the technical side and what would be expected of me.
@trwnh you can email me at cole@betterfit.co but short answer: experience on medical engineering side, writing documentation and with federated networks. All stuff that we could find useful trying to deploy to multiple medical organizations
@trwnh Have you been able to find something?
I wanted to mention that Recurse Center https://www.recurse.com/ is remote (online) now, and free to attend, and has recruiters which can help you find a job after you participate
@brainwane I'll keep that in mind, but I generally prefer self-directed learning. FWIW, I did end up applying to a bunch of technical writing positions and I have an offer and an interview lined up for now!
@trwnh Good luck with the gigs!
RC is a retreat for self-directed learners, in fact!
@trwnh damn the praise section looks great
