Therefore I'd like to ask you to instead consider installing Boinc, which is available from the openSUSE repos, and join one of the many medical research projects there, noteworthy mentions are Rosetta@Home [1], World Community Grid [2] or GPUGRID [3]

Folding@Home on openSUSE

While it is great to see so many people join distributed computing projects inspired by the current situation, F@H has a number of issues, the most serious one in my opinion being that, while possible, in order to make it run on openSUSE you'd need to inject a severely outdated libssl and libcrypto from Leap 42.3 into your system, which I can't in good conscience just watch people do.

Alright, because I keep seeing people occasionally asking for advice on how to to get F@H running on openSUSE I felt the need to write this thread.

Maybe some of you would wanna help out and design logo for , we would love to move on with deciding the rest of branding, and we just need a few submissions to have more to choose from than just 3-4 logos.

Regular Release Distributions Are Wrong - Why I No Longer Use #openSUSE Leap
by Richard Brown

"This post seeks to answer why I have fallen out of love with the Regular Release approach to developing & using Operating Systems and provide an introduction to how you too could rely on Rolling Releases (specifically openSUSE Tumbleweed & MicroOS) for everything."

A nice little something a coworker brought back from for me.

It's been too long since I got my hands on a @opensuse beer, the last time I did it was still called Old Toad, so it was nice to enjoy one again at todays "Bier um vier"

Whenever people talk about streaming and cloud solutions being the future:

At home I have around 10/2 Mbps download/upload speeds, outside I have to be lucky to find 4G signal and it not be spotty. So please tell me, how is it beneficial for me to have almost everything I do depend on a connection to some server on the other side of the world
