Just about when WebGL was to get multi-threading capabilities, boom, Spectre and Meltdown happen (https://googleprojectzero.blogspot.lt/2018/01/reading-privileged-memory-with-side.html), and both Firefox and Chrome disable SharedArrayBuffers (https://blog.mozilla.org/security/2018/01/03/mitigations-landing-new-class-timing-attack/ and https://www.chromium.org/Home/chromium-security/ssca). Sad :(((
Mastodon UI needs work. Split between "web client" and e.g. single toot view is incredibly confusing, no way to navigate between the two.
More worrying is the unclear financial basis this thing stands on. Who will pay for this? Ads won't, and those are basically the only way Twitter manages to stay afloat.
Mastodon wouldn't be the first project to collapse under dev costs. Diaspora had better funding afaik and seemingly more close collaborators who later became core maintainers. And yet...
