I hope to see everyone over on Gitlab if Microsoft acquires GH (or, y'know, before that, because GL > GH)
@vickysteeves Just gotta hope Google doesn't buy GitLab 😔
@remram44 @vickysteeves I'm just going to turn into a DVCS hermit and host all my stuff on Fossil. Any Git repositories will just be mirrors of my fossil repos.
@remram44 @vickysteeves I find it's great for my workflow. Disclaimer: I'm not a fan of git rebase, so the fact that Fossil lacks rebase support is a feature to me. That said, another disclaimer: I've never participated in a Fossil project that had two or more developers. Fossil is used by SQLite and Fossil developers (at least), so we know it works for "large" projects. But, we also know it won't work for Linux-sized projects.
Too many variables for me to feel comfy saying yay or nay.
@remram44 @vickysteeves I do have one moderately sized project hosted in Fossil though, if you're willing to poke around and see how it feels for you. http://chiselapp.com/user/kc5tja/repository/kestrel-2dx/home
@remram44 @vickysteeves Also, there's Bitbucket. Although Atlassian bought out BB some time ago, they've managed to keep the spirit of the site alive and well. I don't have that kind of faith in Microsoft, should they acquire Github.
