I'm seeing lots of Gamedevs on here. (awesome!) Boost this if you're one too. I want to follow you.
@viTekiM How do you feel about former game devs?
@r4stl1n I feel... neutral. :| Why'd you stop?
@viTekiM Ended up deciding that i wanted to be working in security more than i wanted to be in the game industry. Started as a software engineer and moved to gamedev then to a software security engineer. Now i hack machines for a living... Don't get me wrong game dev is challenging but wasn't for me i suppose. You currently in the industry?
@r4stl1n I am! Almost 10 years with Schell Games, after almost 10 years doing random web-related and start-up work. Dot-com bubble and what not. :)
@viTekiM Thats awesome! Whats your current favorite project you have worked on etc?
@r4stl1n We've done a lot I'm proud to have been a part of but the thing that's most "mine" is Enemy Mind. There's a lot of me in that one. http://store.steampowered.com/app/285840/
@viTekiM This is pretty awesome! What was the dev time like on it? Any crazy stories or bad bugs. TO be honest i enjoy hearing about just ridiculous crap that happens when developing games. I know i had a few things when i did it. Like...a few bytes being chopped in my data stream causing some random crap happening across multiplayer instances.
@r4stl1n Took about six months to make with about six of us working on it. Most of the stubborn bugs were introduced by me decideing it would only take a week to make a single player game into a four player co-op game. I'm dumb sometimes. :)
@r4stl1n :) Eeeyup!
