Apple Discontinues the iPod touch

It was not that long ago that I had commented to my friend Barry Sullivan that Apple needed to determine what they were going to do with the iPod touch, either increase the screen size to 4.7 inches, to bring it inline with the iPhone SE, or cancel the product outright. They opted for the latter. Today Apple announced that they are discontinuing th

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga: A Review

If you have been reading my site for a while, you might realize that I like video games. One thing you might not realize is that I also like Legos. You might expect that if you combine the two that I would be the target market, and you would be absolutely correct.

A few years ago I made this flow chart of which Mastodon posts end up in which timelines!

So, you can see how each instance will have a different local timeline, and even a slightly different federated timeline - and you can see why the federated timeline moves so much faster than the local one, too.

This is why it's important to boost good posts and use hashtags - the fediverse is fragmented and harder to search by nature.

Does Mastodon not have a way to read back image descriptions anymore? I know my last image has one because it’s appeared on the cross posted tweet, but there’s no visual sign of it on the original. It doesn’t get picked up by Speak Screen either.

I guess we'll be getting a flood of new users if the Twitter buy out deal goes forward.

Either that, or people will just end up leaving twitter. I'm sure I will be curtailing my usage there. Anybody else?
