minium wage should have been raised years ago. also should be chained to inflation so we don't have to worry about a bunch of millionaire Congress people blocking it
@whiskeysailor I basically lowered my cost of living to cope with wage stagnancy. I can’t complain about wages if my housing costs trend towards $500 a month.
The political class is going to be upset when people don’t live in the city anymore, if people behave like me.
@Leesville wage stagnation is a major issue that doesn't seem to get as much concern as I think it should. also shows there is still room for employment growth.
@whiskeysailor Large corporate employers flood the market with so many McJobs, that are so much easier to get than any other job; nobody knows how to negotiate themselves for better, high-end work. The culture has been so skewed by corporatism, people can’t find well-paying work at smaller firms reliable or realistic.
@Leesville also monopoly or large box stores have a bad affect. before you could work at the hardware store, or the gardening store, or the green grocery etc. but now Walmart moves in or Dollar General.
