I'm tired of this idea that if you run Linux you should be able to use the terminal and you must be a developer or hacker. My dad happily uses Linux and he barely knows how to turn on a computer. Some non-techy people just like privacy and freedom.

Tavmjong is back from #LGM. Don't miss the chance to read how he is improving #fonts in #Inkscape and consider becoming a patron: patreon.com/posts/lgm-seville-

Wow, Francine is the new acid test. :mind_blown:

work at was fun. Thanks to all who participated. :)

When I was a kid there was this weird font that was often used to represent computer, and I always thought it was weird because it didn't seem to have anything to do with the computers I knew... (1/5)

since people are talking about it, here's PocketToot, a Mastodon API client (tested with 2.3.3, Pleroma untested but likely compatible) for Windows Mobile 5 in the Pocket PC form factor. (2003/Smartphone unsupported; see README)

Enjoying the last bits of LGM18 with a definitly non whole man panel programmation, bravo! A thiccc F/LOSS review, a feminist public domain publishing house, a plotter building workshop, a kicking VR dome project, a F/LOSS learning situation reflection and many lives coding: in some words a delicious paella!

For the last two years I've carried a honeypot laptop with me every time I traveled. I checked it in my luggage, left it unattended in my hotel rooms. After each trip, I did forensic analysis on the laptop to detect if it had been tampered with.

I wrote about my experience and methodology here: theintercept.com/2018/04/28/co

There is a tremendous satisfaction in congratulating in person a team of developers for their hard work. It's particularly joyful to share beers with them on the day of a much awaited release. Especially if the particular software is a tool you use almost everyday. These moments are only possible for me at the Libre Graphics Meeting. Congrats to @GIMP, @inkscape and teams. You did pull another major one this year.

Oh sweet, GIMP 2.10 was just released today (it's been on 2.8.x for 6 years), and looks very nice! I can't wait until this release hits Fedora/Debian repos gimp.org/release-notes/gimp-2.

I โค because you can see the best custom linux setups ever. Here's @aryeomhan from @zemarmot working on a typematrix keyboard connected to a wacom tablet running @fedora.

Mostly positive comments on Reddit about the @gimp 2.10 release must mean this is a fantastic release! ;)

Congrats team!

The @GIMP have just released 2.10 to the world! Six years of hard work and improvements are all wrapped up and now available! Congratulations to the GIMP team for all of their hard work and dedication to bring us such a great project!

There is many instances to choose from, but there is only one handing out paper flyers at Libre Graphics Meeting... post.lurk.org

@GIMP Those who pay attention here have noted that the git commit is about the realease of Gimp 2.10 and not 2.1 like I wrote it. ;)

Wow, the crowd just applauded a git commit.
