There's an amazing number of #ActivityPub #alternatives now available or under development:

Twitter -> @Mastodon and #Pleroma

Instagram -> @pixelfed and @anfora

YouTube -> #PeerTube ( @Chocobozzz )

Soundcloud -> @funkwhale

MeetUp -> @GetTogetherComm

Medium -> #Plume ( @BaptisteGelez )

Reddit -> @prismo and Anancus ( @tuxether )

LinkedIn -> @cloutstream

Google Calendar -> @calendar_social

Anything missing from the list? What else is needed?

#Federation #Fediverse

@switchingsocial @Mastodon @pixelfed @anfora @Chocobozzz @funkwhale @GetTogetherComm @BaptisteGelez @prismo @tuxether @cloutstream @calendar_social I've been idly considering a federated forum, like the old phpbbs where I misspent my youth. The local timeline would be threaded, and allow longer posts with Markdown formatting, though they'd federate in a conventional way with Masto and so on.

@switchingsocial @Mastodon @pixelfed @anfora @Chocobozzz @funkwhale @GetTogetherComm @BaptisteGelez @prismo @tuxether @cloutstream @calendar_social Another thing is Disqus - it's used for blog comments everywhere, but it's full of user tracking crap. It would be great to have an alternative where you could use an existing Fediverse account to comment. Not sure how that would wire up with AP. Plume will do this, of course, but what about a plugin for non-federated blogs?
