Shame on Google not supporting #fido #u2f when using #firefox #FirefoxQuantum
It's a very petty move to discredit competitors
@yakky And generally, shame to anyone using user agent sniffing instead of doing proper feature detection
@Wolf480pl
👍 which actually makes me wonder if by just replacing the user agent might I can make it work
Checking tomorrow!
@yakky I've heard they were having trouble getting their server implementation to work with Firefox as a client... but it's not a good look that they just went ahead and put in some user-agent sniffing and called Firefox "not ready" without further explanation.
@varx
That's possibly even more baffling as it worked flawlessly with github and *self-hosted* gitlab
I know that « Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity » , but still...
@varx out of curiosity, I tried to spoof the user agent, but it didn't worked, as enabling U2F immediately returns an error. I don't know if it's because they don't want to support other browsers or because they can't come up with a working backend implementation. Either way, it's very bad :(
