@yogthos seriously contemplating switching to netsurf as my daily driver
the fact that it didn't redirect the downloads page to TLS was a bit of a red flag too; I'm not sure I'd trust my browsing to software developed by people who think that's OK.
I wish them the best but it looks like they're a long way off from a browser that's usable on even basic web sites; much less JS-heavy nightmare sites.
@yogthos I love how everybody freaks about Google stiffing innovation while Apple doesn't allow anything but Safari engine to be even installed on iOS.

@yogthos #Apple gets away with it mostly unnoticed so far, though. Even within tech community a surprising number of people don't even know about #iOS browsers being all #Safari. Even here on the fediverse I see a lot of privacy fundamentalists criticizing #Google while flocking into Apple's walled garden. That's ridiculous. You can disable Google surveillance, but you don't truly own Apple HW after you pay for it. Don't even try to repair it, run only whitelisted closed SW... That's much worse.
