The sky over the port is currently showing reruns of bad sitcoms, and you wish it would go back to being the color of dead television. #cyberpunkproblems

@ckeen @morganth When I first read (back in 94-95 probably) I totally thought it was meant to look like static.

@zer0her0 @morganth yeah when I recently reread the book it occured to me that this may be a lost metaphor soon...

@morganth @zer0her0 Also in the city trilogy, the old man on the bridge always talked about it getting harder and harder to tell the content from advertisement and the girl protagonist did not understand what that was about.

We are almost there I think :)

@ckeen @morganth forgot about the old man on the bridge.

@ckeen @morganth I think it already is. I remember recently reading an article about millennial thinking a guy selling TV antennas at a local fair was selling piracy equipment.

@zer0her0 @morganth Ha! Scundrels! Hooks and sabres are pirate equipment!

@ckeen @morganth haha took me a second to get he joke. I was like what? Is that some sort of radio/ham antenna design joke I’m not getting...

@zer0her0 @ckeen @morganth it was one a common prank played on new apprentices at the Post Office/British Telecom (when HF radio was in more common use) to send them to the stores to obtain a supply of "skyhooks"' (which were supposedly used to keep large antennas up in the air) 😆

@vfrmedia @zer0her0 @morganth Heh, in German this works too, we call them 'Lufthaken'
