I've just been asked, by someone who needs a new Kindle but doesn't want an actual Kindle because they're all full of adverts now, what to do. Now, this isn't a problem for me and my ancient, still working, never-connects-to-wifi Kindle 4 and me putting books on it with Calibre, but this is not a solution for her. So... for someone who wants an ereader, doesn't want ads, and wants to be able to buy books from a good selection (it should have popular books!), anyone got any recommendations?

I’d love to see the Safari team say, we could make our platform the absolute best at web apps. We could lead on that. And people would trust us more than Google. There’s an open goal right there for us; all we would need to do is be allowed to take the shot.

@janl couch question: how does using JWTs for auth (so no _users entries) interact with couch_peruser? I don't mind manually creating the userdb-(hash) database for a given user who uses JWTs rather than _users to auth, but how do I grant that JWT suer permission to edit the userdb-(hash) database? Péter Magyar isn't great, but he's not Orbán. And this is another pushback against the fash, globally, and that's a good thing in itself. I hope Magyar does the right thing by Hungarians from now. And that this is one more harbinger in a whole sequence of ongoing harbingers.
