Ich hatte bisher lediglich die Existenz von #neovim zur Kenntnis genommen, aber das Paket bisher noch nirgendwo installiert. Das mag auch daran liegen, daß ich vi und dessen Abkömmlinge nie wirklich gemocht habe; ich komme ursprünglich von MS-DOS (als andere 'nen C64 hatten, hatte ich einen PC-XT-Klon mit 640KB RAM) und konnte mich irgendwie nie mit der Idee eines Editors anfreunden, der zwischen verschiedenen Modi umschaltet. Wenn ich mal einen Editor brauche, der richtig was kann, nehme ich #emacs oder XEmacs, ansonsten reicht mir nano, und die Textfiles, die mir als Notizzettel dienen, habe ich gewohnheitsmäßig immer in Kate geöffnet (benutze #KDE seit Version 0.9.irgendwas). Eigentlich hätte ich gerne einen Open-Source-Klon vom alten #Borland -Texteditor aus den Zeiten von Turbo Pascal 6.0 und Turbo C++ 4.0.
Wo zuvor schon kaum Gefahr bestand, daß ich jemals Neovim installieren würde (vim habe ich eigentlich auch nur aus Kompatibilitätsgründen auf meinen Systemen), ist nach den jüngsten Entwicklungen nun absolut ausgeschlossen, daß ich das tun werde, ohne daß man mich dazu zwingt.

On the left hand side. I liked the icon for the major mode but realized it didn't do anything. So I combined it with the major mode segment and saved some space. I also added on a bold filename extension or appropriate mode text to make it legible with a bit of powerline like styling.
On the right I moved the Line Position segment over and setup a slightly different background. For a few of the segments like the git/vcs one I added a collapsed mode to just display the icon and then more info when you hover over it.
And I'm trying out a zoomin/zoomout segment on the far right because I find myself often adjusting as I switch from the laptop screen to my desktop monitor.
There also are some quality of life improvements - like having the hover help tezt on the file segment show the full path rather than the text \"buffer name\"

More or less got haxe-mode running, including switching hxml files, *although* it's necessary to issue an eglot command after set-variable because eglot-reconnect doesn't seem to fetch from eglot-server-programs when calling eglot-reconnect.
