Tasting Craft Beer<p>Val-Dieu Cuvée 800, with cheese. </p><p>Beer and cheese from the same abbey! A corresponding fresh grass and light yellow fruit fermentation character. The match is pretty good. Beer also has biscuit. Somewhat sweet, with a very light bitter in the finish. Tasting Craft Beer<p>Abbaye d'Aulne - Brune</p><p>👃🏻 Cherry chocolates. Caramel, plum.<br>👁️ Dark brown, clear. Copious off-white foam.<br>👅 Red fruit. Very rich in esters. Tiny background of roast. Fruity sweet onset, dry bitter finish. Good balance. Tasting Craft Beer<p>Sometimes a beer nerd does crazy things. I obtained this lineup of very old Maredsous beers. Half of them are older than me.</p><p>Left to right: 1977, 1979, 1981, 1984, 1988, 2003. Most are of the "6" variant (blonde, if you will), that is not supposed to age well at all. Tasting Craft Beer<p>World Championships pair well with classic beers: Ename Dubbel.</p><p>👃🏻 Cassis and molasses.<br>👁️ Beautifully clear dark brown. Firm off-white foam.<br>👅 Well balanced, full bodied. Dark red fruit. Ending in a subtle hop bitter.
