Battlefield Waltz – Abel Walkthrough

NOTES:

  • Abel’s route can be played from the start.
  • You must follow ALL the choices below in the common route, to get to Abel’s route.
  • This route has three endings: one Happy End and two Bad Ends.
  • The Common Route Save File here serves as a shortcut to Lustin and Pash’s routes.
  • Clearing Abel’s Happy End rewards you with 200 magic stones, while each Bad End rewards you with 20 magic stones.
  • You can use these magic stones to redeem bonus items from Xiaolei’s shop (accessible from the Main Menu). 200 points are enough to buy out one LI’s bonuses.
  • Recommended Route order: Abel → Lustin → Pash → Nike → Tifalet → Wilhelm.

💡TIP 1: (During the MAP sequences) If the LI you are aiming for is not on the MAP, that means you did not get the correct answer for him in the previous MAP.
💡TIP 2: Always Quick Save before going through each MAP to avoid replaying the entire common route in case you have accidently missed a correct answer.

(If this isn’t your first route, you can load your Common Route Save File for Abel, Lustin & Pash)

Normally, the father is the one listed as naming the children, but it's Eve who names both Cain and Abel in Genesis 3. Adam isn't involved.

Eve names Seth, but in Gen 5 (spoiler!), the text says Adam does, so the implication is that they both did.

And perhaps this is the point.

The story of Adam and Eve doesn't present us with a choice. It isn't set up for us to understand that we should not take the fruit. We aren't given that option in life. We are creatures who have good and evil knowledge. It's in us. That's the story.

But Cain & Abel are choices.

The choices of Abel and Cain are not "be good / be wicked."

The choices are "trust God, even if it means dying / trust yourself, even if it means murdering."

We always call it the story of "Cain & Abel," but this ignores a critical part of the story.

Eve assumes God will use Cain. We assume God will use Abel. But our assumptions are dashed by murder.

The right name of the story should be "Not Cain, not Abel, but through Seth."
