The more I observe and think about the #behavior of the chief figures in the #TrumpAdministration (Trump, Musk, Thiel, Vance, Yarvin, etc), as well as among their prominent supporters (not their mass supporters), the more I am convinced that we may have a more shallow understanding of #psychopathy in our society than we need to properly understand why it is that the people who end up in #power do so.

It seems clear to me that such people do not feel #emotions the same way most people do.

The #broadclub #cuttlefish #Ascarosepion #latimanus lives e.g. along the Australian coast. Matteo Santon et al. (2025) studied its striking #camouflage #hunting, in which it extends two arms to each side, with up to down moving dark stripes, #unsettling the #prey. #behavior

From @paulkrugman.substack.com RE "Sean Duffy’s shithole remark: Trump’s attempt to kill New York’s new congestion fee.... the biggest reason Trump hates #congestion pricing is probably because it embodies the idea that sometimes people should be asked to change their #behavior for the #commongood. And since that’s what his rage seems to be about, the efforts to kill congestion pricing will become even more frantic now that it’s... a huge #success story."

Paul Krugman · Lies and the CityBy Paul Krugman

I am gifted at spotting manipulative .

It comes from being raised in an environment where abuse, neglect and manipulation was constant, so I learned how to spot it, and even do it better than those who did it to me.

It's a curse and a blessing.

I am never used of for long, and use my kindness/time on those who deserve it.

Though it makes it hard for romantic relationships, as everyone is manipulative without meaning to be at times, and I scare easily.

A quotation from Mignon McLaughlin

We start out determined to see that our children are good; we soon settle for having them nice.

A quotation from Nassim Nicholas Taleb

The epic poet did not judge his heroes by the result: Heroes won and lost battles in a manner that was totally independent of their own valor; their fate depended upon totally external forces, generally the explicit agency of the scheming gods (not devoid of nepotism(. Heroes are heroes because they are heroic in behavior, not because they won or loss.
