#banglejs2 can support #GPS, #Beidou, #Glonass, and I was able to get a fix using Beidou only. More toys to play with, I guess. Sources are here: https://github.com/espruino/BangleApps/pull/3674

I'd like watch to tell me "if you stay here, you'll get GNSS fix in 2 minutes". Is there a way to estimate that from satellite positions and signal strengths? Perhaps someone has useful research paper?

Как джамминг и спуфинг GPS мешают мирному населению

Региональная карта помех GPS на 5 августа 2024 года, источник Давно известно, что сигнал GPS подвержен джаммингу (глушению) и спуфингу (подделке). Орбита спутников находится на высоте 20 180 км, так что сигнал на Земле легко заглушить. Но вот спуфинг считали слишком сложным и дорогостоящим. Сейчас всё изменилось. В наше время энтузиаст-любитель с парой сотней долларов и инструкциями на Github может подделать сигнал GPS. Правительства тоже стали активно искажать сигналы систем навигации в рамках электронных войн. Спуфинг перешёл из теоретических научных статей в реальную жизнь. К сожалению, помехи GPS распространяются далеко за пределы зон военных конфликтов, что влияет на повседневную жизнь простых людей в Москве и Санкт-Петербурге, Латвии, Эстонии, Финляндии, Беларуси, Турции и др. (на КДПВ).

@simsus Der von #Galileo genutzte Frequenzbereich darf sich nach massivem Druck der #USA ausdrücklich nicht mit dem von #GPS überschneiden, *damit* Galileo unabhängig von GPS gestört werden kann. Stören dürfte nötigenfalls auch so praktiziert werden, auch wenn es für Galileo (oder die anderen #GNSS: #BeiDou oder #GLONASS) m.W. keine Störungskarten gibt (kennt jemand welche?).

Lo scorso martedì 26 dicembre 2023 la Cina ha lanciato altri due satelliti per il sistema di navigazione e posizionamento #Beidou. Purtroppo sembra che due booster esausti del lanciatore siano precipitati in aree abitate, a quanto pare senza recare danni alle persone.
